Jeffrey Francin peacefully passed away on January 31, 2024, at the age of 71, after a difficult battle with leukemia. Born on May 7, 1952, in Fond du Lac, WI, he was the cherished son of the late Roland and Celayne Francin.

Jeff’s unwavering love and devotion to his family, along with his infectious laughter and kind-hearted spirit, will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his loving wife, Eileen Francin, who stood alongside him through every triumph and challenge, bringing joy and companionship into his life. He is further survived by his brother, Mike (Cindy) Francin; sister-in-law Kathy (Don) Frank; and wonderful dog, Kimber.

Jeffrey’s passion for the outdoors led him to spend many happy hours hunting and honing his golfing skills. Always up for an adventure, he valued the tranquility of nature and the thrill of the game. His love for these activities brought him closer to friends and family, creating lasting memories that will forever be treasured.

After retiring from a successful career as a claims agent at American Family Insurance, Jeff sought out a new venture to fill his days with joy and purpose. He found peace and fulfillment in working at the Pro Shop of Greenwood Hills Country Club, where he greeted each golfer with warmth and enthusiasm.

A celebration of Jeffrey’s life will take place on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 12:00 pm at Highland Community Church, 1005 N 28th Avenue, Wausau, WI 54401. Friends and family are invited to join together in sharing stories and memories at the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Jeffrey’s name to Hope Pregnancy Resource Center, Tunnel to Towers, Lincoln County Humane Society, or Pro-Life Action Ministries, 1163 Payne Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55130.

Cynthia Diane Robbins, 65, of Wausau, passed away peacefully at home on January 30, 2024.

Cindy was born on June 24, 1958 in Wausau daughter of the late Leo and Diane Mucha. She was a graduate of Wausau East High School Class of 1976 and later obtained her degree from NTC. During the course of career she has worked many jobs but especially enjoyed working at Tomcek Chiropractic, and meeting many other friends and collegues along the way.

Cindy was known as a creative, clever, problem solving, resourceful, driven and very authentic person. In her spare time Cindy loved to travel the world and cherished her alone time gardening at home. Though she possessed a straight forward direct manner of communication she had a very tender heart that was openly worn on her sleeve. If you knew her down deep, Cindy loved her daughter Mandy and son Kyle IMPLICITLY, plus the two additions of grandgirls Lockslee and Savi and she loved it when they called her “grammy”. Cindy cherished her many friends and her extended family.

Cindy leaves two children: Kyle (Jodie) Robbins, Mandy (Greg) McNair along with two granddaughters: Lockslee and Savi McNair. She also leaves her siblings, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Cindy is joined in heaven by her late husband Tim Robbins, brother, Tom Mucha, sister-in-law Linda Robbins, nephew, Beau Mucha, brother-in-law, Bob Matiasovsky and countless uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 9th from 9 AM – 10:30 AM at the Church of the Resurrection, 612 N. 2nd Street, Wausau. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM. “Come with a smile on your lips and wear your caribbean colors please” – Cindy

Ellen M. Runnoe

Ellen M. Runnoe, 69, of Wausau, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024.

She was born on May 29, 1954, to James and Mary Ann (Gleichner) Schmitt, in Two Rivers, Wisconsin.

Ellen grew up in Two Rivers, WI attended Roncalli High School. She enrolled in college at Silver Lake and went on to graduate from St. Norbert’s college in 1976.

Ellen was a school teacher for 40 years teaching at Amburg School in Wausaukee School District for 2 years then moving and teaching at Rib Mountain Elementary school in the Wausau School District for 38 years as a second grade teacher. Ellen completed her master’s in education from Silver Lake College. Being a teacher was Ellen’s passion, she brought her entire class for field trips to her home for “Frog day” and sledding & ice skating adventures.

She dedicated her life to her faith, family and students. She took pride in raising her five children and cheering on their endeavors. All three of her sons played football for Newman Catholic High School and rain or shine she was always in the stands cheering and yelling with excitement “That’s my son!”. Every Sunday she would ensure the family would attend mass and then cheer on the Green Bay Packers.

She loved to sew, she cherished sewing matching clothing for her family, Halloween costumes for her children and beautiful quilts. Each year family would attend the quilting expo in Madison and connect for “Sip & Sew” weekend. She loved to celebrate with loved ones and create traditions. Ellen and her husband hosted a Pumpkinfest party for over 34 years. The gathering consisted of skits with pumpkins, a bubble blowing contest and songs with kazoos. Ellen loved any reason to be together with family.

Ellen was a lifetime member of the USRSA (United States Running Streak Association) a club in which you run at least one mile every day, which she did for over 10 years. She completed many 5K’s and two half marathons – one of which she ran with her husband and all five of her children.

Ellen is survived by her mother, Mary Ann Schmitt; her husband, Lorrin Runnoe; her children, Alison (Mark) Herseth, Adam (Victoria) Runnoe, Mark Runnoe, Mary Runnoe and John (Danielle) Runnoe; her 9 grandchildren: Nora, Maggie, Sarah and Matthew Herseth; Haley, Emily, Luke and Benjamin Runnoe; and Nicholas Runnoe; 10 siblings: Ruth (Steve) Wrolstad, Rev. Carl Schmitt, Jim (Dona) Schmitt, Bill Schmitt, Sara (Clark) Meyer, Tom (Pat) Schmitt, Rachel (Brian) Schauf, Tony Schmitt, Becky (Kevin) Jorgensen and Leah (Zach) Timm.

She is preceded in death by, her father, James Schmitt; and siblings Bernard and Frances Schmitt.

A visitation will take place at Helke Funeral Home on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A funeral service will take place on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 11:00 am, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Rothschild, WI. A second visitation will take place on Friday, from 10:00 am until the time of services at the church. A burial will follow services with a luncheon to follow.

Robbie Scott Voigt passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, with his beloved dog, Lila, by his side. Robbie was born June 6, 1974, to Robert and Karen (Krohn) Voigt in Wausau. He was an adventurous little boy, often pulling typical boy stunts and teaching his younger brothers the way of their world while causing just enough trouble to keep his mom on her toes.

Robbie was always drawn to the older generation, sitting for hours learning from and talking with the retired neighbors. Spending time with his grandparents was one of his favorite things to do in childhood. Robbie always had great memories of spending the night fishing, camping, and just hanging out learning from them. This shaped his interest in the outdoors and working with his hands also. Robbie was an excellent hunter, loved fishing and being outdoors. He felt at peace in this element. He also taught his daughter to hunt and fish as well. Robbie loved spending time with Kaitlyn, going for walks or to the pool in summer. They shared so many fun times especially when she was younger playing with Polly Pockets and Club Penguin online.

Robbie was exceptional with small motor work, woodworking, and had vast knowledge of watches, clocks, gems and rocks, and various antiques. He had a special love for finding treasures at resale shops. Robbie enjoyed sharing his finds with everyone he could, especially his mom and mother-in-law.

Robbie was loved by so many people. He is survived by his daughter, Kaitlyn Voigt; love of his life, Tammy Voigt; parents, Robert and Karen Voigt; brothers, Ryan (Rose) Voigt and Russell (Heather) Voigt; as well as many nephews and nieces. His special dog, Lila, will forever miss him. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer and LaVera Krohn and Sheldon Sr and Dorothy Voigt; as well as three uncles.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday February 8, 2024 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home,1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com.

Scott L. Best “Scotty B” born December 18th, 1975, passed away on January 21st, 2024 at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, WI. After losing his brave battle with kidney failure.

Scotty was known for always cracking jokes and being outside working on anything and everything. The man always had a tool in hand and a cigarette in lip. The way his mind worked was truly extraordinary and will forever be admired. He had a laugh that could instantly light up even the darkest room and the type of hugs that could collapse a lung. He would’ve moved mountains for the people he loved even if it meant breaking his back in the process. He loved everything that went “vroom” & “boom” and absolutely did not like bats at all or-“mice with wings”- as he called them.

He is proceeded in death with his father, James Best; his grandma & grandpa Lantz; his niece Hannah Best; and many beloved friends as well. May they all their souls rest peacefully.

He is survived by his daughter Brianna Best (Monkey), his grandchildren Iyanna and Ezra Best who referred to him as “grandpa peanut butter”; bonus daughter Destiny Schultz; his mother Mary Best; his brother Robert (Bob) Best & Sister in law Dana Best, his nephews Nicholas Best, Grayson Best, and Marshall Best; and his brother William (Bill) Best, Sister in law Melissa Best, and nieces Makayla Best and Carissa Best.

Tyler Bradley Justice, 34, of Dorchester, born September 29, 1989, to Bradley and Kristin Justice, passed away January 29, 2024. He will be missed greatly by many.

Tyler grew up in Stetsonville, WI with his loving family. He found his niche working at Purina in Spencer, WI, working in industrial maintenance. Tyler’s main passions were hunting alongside his father, fishing, spending time with family, friends, his lifelong partner, CiJi, and their fur babies, Spartacus and Groot. Tyler had the best smile, was kind, and compassionate in helping others in any way that he could.

Tyler met the love of his life, CiJi Becker in 2012. Together, with Spartacus, Groot, family, and friends, they built a life filled with beautiful, loving memories.

Tyler is survived by his parents, Kris and Brad Justice, sisters Katie (Steve) Voss, Mallory (Steve) Justice, girlfriend CiJi Becker, Mother-in-law Dawn Zettler, Father-in-law Bernard Becker, Grandmother-in-law Evangeline Becker, Brother-in-laws Mitch and John (Amie) Becker, nephews Everett and Samuel Voss, Wyatt and Daxon Becker, nieces Demi, Avah and Lydia Becker, and God-daughter Amiyah Duerr.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, as well as other family and friends.

The visitation will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville at 10:00am with a service to follow at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated, and will be designated at a later date.
